MidNet is the community network serving Columbia and the surrounding Midlands of South Carolina. MidNet provides free website hosting to any Midlands-area nonprofit and commercial-free access to local information. Over 200 nonprofit organizations and community groups currently provide information through MidNet. Our goal is to make MidNet your one-stop source for information about our community.

MidNet is sponsored by The School of Library & Information Science at The University of South Carolina. MidNet was started in 1995 with a grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting as a cooperative partnership between the University, South Carolina ETV, and the Richland County Public Library.
