Signing a Lease

A lease is a legal binding contract requiring you to pay a certain amount for a certain period. Before you enter into any rigid lease agreement, you must get information on future zoning plans and decide how long you wish to remain at a location under consideration. Listed below are items that should be carefully considered before entering into a lease agreement:

  1. Terms of the Lease
  2. Signage
  3. Improvements and Alterations
  4. Safety
  5. Licensing Authorities
  6. Option to Renew
  7. Do you have the right to sublease or assign the lease?
  8. Is the location appropriate to the kind of business you will conduct?
