The 2007 walk, the 29th annual, is a 5K (3.1-mile) event. It begins and ends at the South Carolina State House, at the corner of Gervais and Main streets.

You can register the day of the walk beginning at 1:30 p.m. The Columbia Community Jazz Band highlight the pre-walk preparations before the walk begins at 2:30.

You can also register in advance by phone (782-4238) or by mail by downloading this form (PDF), filling it out and mailing it 6436 Sylvan Drive, Columbia, SC 29206

Walkers who raise at least $75 will get a free T-shirt. Walkers are encouraged, however, to try to raise $100 or more.

You can also print useful information such as Fast Facts (PDF), Frequently Asked Questions (PDF), and Tips & Pointers.

Walk materials can be requested in advance by calling 782-4238, or they can be picked up through mid-November at the following locations:

If your company or organization usually participates in matching gifts programs, you might be able to double your gift/pledge. See details, and a list of participating organizations at the Chuch World Service site.

Make sure to bring comfortable shoes and be prepared to have a good time walking!
