WELCOME TO LEXINGTON MEDICAL CENTER

Lexington Medical Center has served the people of Lexington County and parts of Richland County since 1971. Since then Lexington County has grown from a collection of small rural communities to the fastest growing, most affluent county in South Carolina. And Lexington Medical Center has grown along with it.

What started as a 125-bed not-for-profit county hospital has grown into a 292-bed multi-service medical center that remains committed to its roots in community service. Lexington Medical Center offers some of the most advanced technology in South Carolina. Our Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) has the most powerful magnet in the Midlands which means that doctors can find tumors and hairline fractures that escape X-rays without resorting to exploratory surgery. Our linear accelerator is one of five of its kind in the country. Its power is unmatched in the Southeast which means that patients can get treatment for cancer without suffering many of the side effects radiation therapy usually entails. .

Lexington Medical Center is licensed by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control. It was fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals two years after it opened and continues to be so accredited. .

Lexington Medical Center and its satellites--Rikard Nursing Homes and Lexington Medical Center in Irmo, an urgent care and outpatient center that serves the Lake Murray area--will continue to provide quality, innovative care to the people of Lexington County into the 21st century.
