City Year
City Year is an organization that allows 17-23 year olds from diverse backgrounds to perform community service for 10 months. In exchange, they receive a living stipend, an educational grant and the experience of a lifetime. We have 10 city year members at McCants. They serve as teacher and library assistants, monitor an "After School Program", walk children home, assist with assemblies. They do whatever needs doing to help McCants and its students.

Mentors
Mentors are caring adults who have volunteered to give at least one hour per week to develop a one-on-one relationship with a student. Not only do they help by tutoring, but also mentors serve as friends, big brothers, big sisters, role models, and support persons. This program and its progress is monitored by a school committee.
