First Meeting a Rousing Sucess!
The South Carolina Archival Association recently completed its first annual meeting, and a good time was had by all.
The meeting was held on Thursday, October 21, 1999, at the
South Carolina Archives and History Center.
Several workshops were available for the attendees. Participants chose from:
- Basic Presservation, offered by Carol Crawford of the SCDAH
- Visual Materials, offered by Beth Bilderback of the South Caroliniana Library
- Encoded Archival Description, offered by Stephen Miller of Duke University
After the workshops, there was a business meeting that focused on electing new officers. The results of the election will be in the next newsletter.
The SCAA is dedicated to promote and preserve archival materials in the state. If you are interested in joining, be sure to check out the SCAA's website here.
Special thanks to the Applied History graduate students who served as volunteers at the meeting.
