HIPAA  Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act 

There are three types of standards created by HIPAA: privacy, security, and administrative simplification. The privacy and security standards have the most significant effect on hospitals, as they require technical and procedural changes for every use and disclosure of individually identifiable health information.
