Mensa is an international organization of people who enjoy using their minds. Mensans meet to talk, learn new things, and share their common (and often uncommon) experiences. Local groups meet during regular monthly meetings and as part of special interest groups. There are also regional, national, and international gatherings.
The officially stated purposes of Mensa are:
1) to identify and foster human intelligence for the benefit of humanity;
2) to encourage research in the nature, characteristics, and uses of
intelligence;
3) to provide a stimulating intellctual and social environment for its members.
The only qualification for becoming a part of Mensa is that you score in the top 2% on a standard IQ test.
Check our links page for links to the Mensa and US Mensa websites.
CSCM is home to Mensans from the Midlands of South Carolina and the
Augusta/Aiken/North Augusta area.
CSCM has a dinner meeting the second Tuesday of each month that includes
time to socialize and hear from a stimulating speaker.
We also have two SIGs, or special interest groups, that also meet once a
month. These offer an opporunity to engage others with similar interests
on a regular basis. Our SIGs topics are:
1) Discussion
2) Classic movies
