Kindergarten students attend full day classes. Academic instruction includes the Silver Burdett Ginn reading curriculum and Macmillan and Merrill mathematics curriculum.
The elementary school students receive academic instruction in a self-contained classroom. The curriculum focuses on providing basic skills in reading, language arts and mathematics. The Silver Burdett Ginn reading curriculum is followed throughout the elementary grades as is the Macmillan and Merrill mathematics curriculum. Periodically during the school year students participate in field trips that provide first hand opportunities to reinforce skills taught in the classroom.
All students are required to study English, Math, Social Studies, Science, Reading and Physical Education.An advance program is available for gifted children. Students who qualify can begin earning high school creditsas early as the 7th grade by successfully completing Prealgebra, Biology and Spanish.
At Sloan's School we offer two tracts at the high school level.
Summer school is held each year and offers courses for students interested in advancement or remediation.
