The Reference Department of the Sumter libraries is fully staffed during all normal operating hours. The staff is prepared to attempt to answer all questions our patrons may have or assist them in locating the answers. You may reach a reference person by calling the branch main number.
REDI-REFERENCE is a service of the Sumter County Public Libraries designed to answer reference questions for patrons by email. Patrons can compose questions by clicking on the link at the bottom of this page. This service is intended primarily for residents of Sumter County, South Carolina and others who hold a Sumter County Public Library borrower's card.
We will try to answer you within 24 hours. Questions submitted on Friday or during holidays may take a little longer. For faster service please call or come to the Reference Desk at any branch of the Sumter County Library System.
When composing your email question, please be as detailed as possible. If you are working on a class project please tell us if you are an elementary school, middle school, high school or college student. Depending on the nature of the question, the librarian may refer you to a web site, an organization or another library. Please keep in mind that our librarians will not give medical, financial or legal advice.
Note: For circulation questions (your library card, renewals, overdue, or lost materials, etc.) please contact the Circulation Department.
