From Outside Columbia:  A map and directions from www.mapblast.com

From the State House:
Columbia is South Carolina's capitol city.  The State House (the Capitol Building) is in the heart of the downtown. Main Street is perpendicular to the main entrance to the State House, and Gervais Street runs in front of the State House.  The University of South Carolina is only a few short blocks south of the State House.  Assembly Street is at the west side of the State House.  To go to Whaley Street United Methodist Church from downtown Columbia, get on Assembly Street going south.  Pass the State House on your left, and pass the Carolina Coliseum on your right.  Continue south on Assembly Street (toward the state fairgrounds) until Assembly is intersected by Whaley Street.  A gas station is on your right; here you will turn right off of Assembly onto Whaley.  Soon you will pass the Doughboy statue and see the old Olympia Mill building on your left.  Our church is directly across the street from the mill.  You may park behind the church, or we have a parking lot on the other side of the parsonage, just on the right as the road makes a sharp curve.

FromWest Columbia:
Come into downtown Columbia on either Knox Abbott Drive or on U.S.#1 -- both intersect the main road Huger Street, where you'll need to turn right onto Huger, heading south (toward the state fairgrounds).  Huger will cross railroad tracks and make a sharp curve, becoming Whaley Street.  Our church parking lot is just as that curve starts, first thing on the left after you cross the tracks, or you can continue around the curve and take the next left which runs beside our church and park behind the church.  Come on in the back door -- everybody else does so they can speak to everybody (-- the church office is just inside there).

If you're still confused how to find us, call the church -- (803) 799-4104.  We are a small church with very friendly people.  You will be made to feel welcomed and at home.
